Acts 5 – It’s God’s Business! It’s not about Me! Playing with the Anointed of God!

Acts 5

Ananias & Sapphira

The risk of defiling God’s business with the devil’s fruit!?

The risks of trying to use God’s business for your own glory through deceit?

Trying to use the ways of the world to get ahead in the kingdom of God?

Partial obedience is still total disobedience in God’s kingdom?

God is to be worshiped in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

God will judge the intentions of the heart ( motives) not merely the actions? (Jeremiah 17:9-10, Proverbs 16:2). The spirit knows the intentions of ones heart. Everyone’s intentions shall be judged separately with one given the opportunity for repentance?

Everyone judged for their own sin. You cannot cheat your way into the kingdom of God.

The Lord wants All of oneself surrendered to Him in order to be accepted into His kingdom?

Blasphemy of the Spirit results in death?

If one is not ready to fully commit to kingdom business ( God’s call for your life especially after being saved ) one is as good as dead ( will not find satisfaction in this life)?

Being used as an example to others of the consequences / wages of sin?

Sin brings instant death ( separation from God) into ones life.

# Thank you Jesus for your mercy and grace over my life, for covering me with your Blood and presenting me as the righteousness of God in you. May I fear grieving the Holy Spirit when He asks me (convicts us) to surrender ALL that I am ( our worldly possessions / the things that root us in this world / the ways of the world ) for the kingdom of God and His business.

( There is a bible story of one who carried idols / never left all that was defiled of the world and was met with death?? – Jacob & Rachel in Genesis 31). Carrying anything, however small, of the world into the promised land or putting anything however small above God – still considered idolatry?

How often do we want to keep something small of the world, we don’t want to entirely let go of it all – whether it is sex before marriage, drugs and alcohol, political correctness of being nice and considerate of sinful situations though disapproved by God and so on. The little compromises of life that still affect us in our walk with the Lord, but still lead to death!

A friend of the world is an enemy of the Lord? (James 4:4)

The leadership of the church should be held in high regard ( because of how they reflect the image, likeness and power of Christ for the glory of God?)

Miracles, signs and wonders should be performed even today in the Church. It is a good way to draw people into church – displaying the power of God at work for His people.

It is said the people suffer when good people do nothing. The enemy is busy and excitedly displaying his ‘ power ‘ in killing stealing and destruction while the body of Christ is not as willing/ enthusiastic to display the Power of God in bringing life and life more abundantly!

The Church of Jesus Christ should be concerned with both physical and spiritual healing.

Meeting regularly of the Body of Christ.

Only those with pure motives ( all about God) should join in doing church business. Judgement shall start with God’s people? (1 Peter 4:17)

Jealousy in the Church – should not arise as we are all merely servants, each performing the Master’s business that He has assigned us for His glory. It has nothing to do with us, it is all about Him.

If God is for us, who can prevail against us? (Romans 8:31)

God’s Word carries the majority in all situations! Nothing can contain the message of life – Jesus and His the mighty name. No one can put God in a box / chains.

The power of testimony – a true encounter ( witness) with Jesus Christ never leaves one the same again. One surrenders their life ( and rights?) and it becomes all about Jesus, even at the expense of physical death. Must be what is happening in Muslim nations – receiving encounters with Jesus Christ that radically converts them to the faith.

The spirit of the antichrist may dwell even in the church? Opposing the will of God in the Church.

Gamaliel – in whatever situation one may find themselves in, especially controversial issues, always try be on the Lord’s side. It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands ( wrong side) of the Living God! (Hebrews 10:31)

Count it all joy to be persecuted for the Lord’s sake….(Matthew 5:10-11)
