LFM 19 MAY 2019:Cracks, Leakages & Poor Foundations …draining my blessings?

LFM – Sunday 19 May 2019

.

If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?…

  •  Psalm 11:3 / Zaburi 11:3 BHND
  • Kama misingi ikiharibiwa, mtu mwadilifu atafanya nini?”

Last week,

We were taught on praying to have the spirit of Nehemiah…

  • Being grieved because of sin and its destruction in our lives and in the people of God
  • … Uharibifu katika maisha yetu, familia, jinsia
  • Having the compassion to want to correct this
  • … wanting to stand in the gap / simama kwenye pengo
  • … rebuilding the walls to prevent the enemy from accessing our lives and families
  • Going back to seeking the face and heart of God
  • So that we can live under the blessings of the Lord and not curses
Ezekiel 22:30 NLT / BHND
  • “I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one.
  • Nilitafuta miongoni mwao mtu mmoja atengeneze ukuta na kusimama juu ya mahali palipobomoka mbele yangu, ili ailinde nchi na kunizuia nisiiharibu, lakini sikumpata hata mmoja.
  • Ezekieli 22:30 BHND

If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Kama misingi ikiharibiwa, mtu mwadilifu atafanya nini?”

Cracks, leakages and poor foundations

  • There is no point of trying to build one’s life on poor foundations, with cracks and leakages
  • Kazi bure, ya kungangana  maisha, maombi, makesha, kufunga-  hakuna…
  • … Unapata miracle ya pesa, but inaisha after 3 months.
  • … unapata miracle ya uponyaji, but after one week umerudi kwa pastor, maumivu yamerudi
  • …basically, anything in life, especially those that we require from the Lord, if put on a poor foundation ( with cracks & leakages) is pointless and not sustainable. It will not last and in the end we shall come back complaining to the Lord that it didn’t work out as expected. The issue is the blessing ( be it work, marriage, business, children, family, ministry…etc) was built on a poor foundations where there were cracks and leakages that could not hold / sustain the blessing…giving chance to the enemy to come in and do what he does best – kill, steal & destroy the blessings of God in our lives.
Blessings of the Lord addeth no sorrow
  • Proverbs 10:22
  • The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.

So what could the problem be? –  taabu iko wapi?

Points to consider…

If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?…Psalm 11:3

Kama misingi ikiharibiwa, mtu mwadilifu atafanya nini?”

Scriptures

Isaiah 59:1-2

  • Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear.
  • But your iniquities have built barriers between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.
Ecclesiastes 10:8
  • Whoever digs a pit may fall into it; whoever breaks through a wall may be bitten by a snake.

Jeremiah 2:13

  • “My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.
Hosea 7:9
  • Strangers devour his strength, and he knows it not; gray hairs are sprinkled upon him, and he knows it not.
Isaiah 58:12
  • Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins; you will restore the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of Streets of Dwelling.

Seek an inheritance more than a miracle (instant gratification)

  • An inheritance is sustainable and can be passed on to the next generation – kwa watoto…
  • But may requires time & effort to set proper foundations…
  • … as some blessings may require one to endure the cross before the crown,
  • … to experience eating the locusts as well as the honey ( John the Baptist)
  • …and coming out of the instant gratification mindset ( betting, deals, slay queen mentality…) where one seeks to gain as much as possible from doing as little as possible, if not anything at all,
  • …leading one to sell out their birthright (inheritance) for instant gratification of the flesh (a bowl of soup, like Esau) – Genesis 25

Ask God to show us the leakages and cracks in our lives

  • That prevent us from living in a sustainable manner in His blessing
  • And be willing to deal with them – pull the faulty down and start again if we have to – not patch up

Build on Christ Jesus the Solid Rock

  • Because all other foundations are not as straight or as strong
  • Jesus Christ, the only WAY to the TRUTH of LIFE eternal now and into the presence of the Father.
1 Corinthians 3:9‭-‬15 NLT
  • For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building. Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ. Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.
.
?? What is my foundation built on?
.
?? Are my foundations in any aspect of my life being tested by the Lord to see if it can stand?
  • That area of hardship that I am currently experiencing?
  • … health, finances, marriage, children, ministry…??
  • … did I build them on a wrong foundation, where the enemy can come and shake it??
  • That thorn in my flesh – like Paul?
?? Does my foundation have cracks or leakages?
  • Born again, but still in bondage
  • That people would see my life, wonder and ask…
  • … kwani alifanyia Mungu nini? ( what did you do to God?)
  • … kama hiyo ndiyo Ukristo, afadhali niiache…(if that is the life of salvation, I rather stay out of it!)
So that we do not live a life of
  • Being wealthy but not healthy
  • Being healthy but not wealthy
  • Being called – katika utumishi ( in ministry ) – but not honored
  • Being armed – weapons & armor of God – but unable to fight even the simplest battles of life
  • Being a king, but living as a slave
  • Working like an elephant but eating like an ant!
Illustration
  • Builders,  watu  mjengo, walikuwa wanakanyaga matope… . One of them was tasked kuleta maji, lakini the vessel had holes- leakages and cracks.
  • ( a builder tasked with bringing water to the brick makers but using a vessel that had holes)
Prayer
  • That the Lord will show me the issues of my life
  • That I will deal with the cracks, leakages and rebuild my foundations ( work or business, marriage, family, ministry…all in & on Christ Jesus
  • So that I can live in the fullness of my inheritance, my blessings in Christ Jesus

  • When I deal with the leakages and cracks … I have a better chance to grow bigger and go higher as well as sustain my position there.
  • After all I am supposed to be the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath, a lender and not a borrower…blessings of Deuteronomy 28
  • I come against the spirit of backwardness, stagnation and retardation that would want to relegate me to the tail, beneath or borrower position of life.
  • I claim the headship, leadership and lender position in all aspects of my life
  • …All in the mighty powerful name of Jesus Christ
