Focusing on my fear brings it into manifestation
>> I need to change what I focus my fear on
.
Focus on the Lord & not the problem
-
God is bigger than my biggest problem
-
… Stronger than my toughest enemy
-
…….Greater than my toughest fight
What I focus on, hence meditate on, betrays what I have faith in
.
>> My lack of faith is displeasing to God & considered as sin
-
…it betrays the fact that I think that my problem is bigger than my God
-
…& not that my God is indeed bigger than my problem
-
…& I therefore fall into idolatry …Exodus 20:3
-
…putting anything above God
-
…having more faith in the problem rather than in God
Romans 14:23 (NKJV)
-
But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith;
-
for whatever is not from faith is sin.
We have been going through a series of : the Word as a mirror to our life…
… previously:
>> God judges from the thoughts & intents of our hearts … I need to work on my heart
…last week & 1st service- Elder Nancy
>> If I can’t love people, I shouldn’t cheat myself that I love God
-
>> I need to work on my people loving skills
Today
-
Lacking faith is sin
-
>> Anytime I lack faith, I fall into sin
The Great I AM is BIGGER, STRONGER & GREATER than any situation I may encounter
>> Why the Great I AM who I AM…Exodus 3:14
-
…God cannot be put into a box or limited in any way
-
God can be whatever I need Him to be to change the equation of my situation
-
>> Jireh = Provider, Rapha = Healer, Shalom = Peace
-
>> like X-factor….but now God-Factor,
-
…….Cards >> Trump or Jocker (makes a joke of the enemy)
How I focus on the Lord depends on how I see Him or the revelation I have of Him
>> How can this be done?
-
E.g. By calling on the Name of the Lord that is related to the situation I am facing…
-
For the Great I AM to respond appropriately…
…A man could be a President, Commander in Chief, Husband, Father
-
>> The same person but
-
….responds to different titles and
-
….responds differently depending on who is calling
-
>> a young son or daughter will have more lee way when approaching the man than an army officer
-
Picture : young lions playing with their father – any other baby animal would probably be lunch
-
or …Apostle’s son when he came…could come sit with him at the front and go with him to the altar
-
… go try walking into statehouse and see…
David used this principle against Goliath
-
Focusing on God as greater than his problem
-
Invoking the appropriate I AM Name of God for his situation
1 Samuel 17:45-47 (NKJV)
45Then said David to the Philistine, You come to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
46This day will the LORD deliver you into my hand; and I will strike you, and take your head from you; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
47And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saves not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’S, and he will give you into our hands.
David invoked the Name of the Lord as Jehovah Sabaoth
>> Jehovah Sabaoth …the Lord of Hosts, The Lord of Heavens Armies is His Name
-
Changing the equation of his situation
-
…from his battle to it becoming the Lord’s battle
Psalm 91:14-16 (NKJV)
-
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will [e]set him on high, because he has known My name.
-
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.
-
With [f]long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”
Learning Principles:
What you behold you become
-
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he …Proverbs 23:7(NKJV)
-
>> David focused on the Lord as being victorious and became victorious
What you fear, you attract
-
Fear is a spirit that is looking for who to be acquainted with
-
>> For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind…..2 Timothy 1:7(NKJV)
Fear is a spirit and opens a door into our hearts
….for that which we fear to come into our lives….
.
>> David feared the Lord more than he feared the enemy and attracted the Lord into his situation
.
-
>> For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me….Job 3:25(NKJV)
-
>> You have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you,” says the Lord GOD…Ezekiel 11:8 (NKJV)
-
>> then it shall be that the sword which you feared shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt; the famine of which you were afraid shall follow close after you there in Egypt; and there you shall die… Jeremiah 42:16(NKJV)
I should be careful on what or whom I behold or fear other than God
-
It shows where or with whom my faith is …activating Hebrews 11:6
-
>> But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
-
If I focus & behold the problem or the enemy
-
>> I may be pleasing, hence attracting and being rewarded for diligently seeking the problem or the enemy
-
….manifesting its nature of stealing, killing and destroying some good thing in my life
My life is a sum total of my decisions & consequences
>> Behold & fear the Lord so that I can attract and become like Him
-
What I behold I become
-
What I fear I attract
