Male Role Pt 3

Scriptures focusing on the husband & his role.

– 1 Corinthians 11

– Ephesians 5

– Colossians 3

– 1 Peter 3:7

Questions for deliberation may arise, such as

>> Who & what is the male to model after?

– How?

– Why?

The idea for the studies is to gain divine wisdom for ourselves and for our

… husbands

… sons

… brothers

.

… indeed for the men of society to be

… equipped

… empowered

.

To fulfill their divine mandate in

… family

… church

… society

.

The Word of God will provide powerful prayer points for the same…

… exercising the power of the Word and the tongue

… for God to shape or change

… people, situations or relationships for the ideal.

In the Male Role series

… we have seen that 

.

Leadership comes with responsibility and accountability

… and that males in order to be successful in their leadership role in the family

… have to get an understanding

… of who they are

… what they are responsible for 

… and who they are accountable to

.

For failing to lead…

… is just leading in failure 

… the ‘weak strongman’ principle

… where among other things

… the head may be rendered deaf, dumb & blind

… ineffective or unable to see, hear or speak

… thereby having trouble in choosing (leading or directing to …) life (and blessing) 

… for or on behalf of the family

… so that he and his descendants may live (Deuteronomy 30:19-20)

We further saw Abraham (Genesis 18:18-19)

… who led the family by example

… in the way of the Lord and to do righteousness and justice

… for the blessings of the Lord to fully come upon his family and his generations

.

We have also seen why leadership requires 

… the fostering of love and unity

… the principle of oneness (in family or society)

… which is the universal principle of stability and prosperity (progress)

… as referenced in Psalm 133, story of the Tower of Babel, …

.

We looked at Ephesians 4 

… as giving a good perspective how a male can lead the family in love and unity.

Last week, we mainly looked at 

… 1 Corinthians 11 – Structure & Authority

… & at 1 Kings 13

… the story of the old prophet who lied and the young prophet who died

.

… which gave us insight on the 

… male symbol of authority , obedience & the fear of the Lord

… and how males in particular, as the leader & servant of God in the family setting,  should take their responsibilities very seriously 

… for decisions or lack thereof (particularly of wisdom) may have serious consequences 

.

Certain main roles for the male in the family start to emerge

… the Priestly & Prophetic

… the Provision & Protective

& their responsibility & accountability for the same

.
