What was the issue with Adam & Abraham following their wives advice?

WISDOM, OBEDIENCE, FEAR OF THE LORD.

… the young prophet who died!!

Some questions arise from the previous studies on the male role, one being…
What seems to be the main issue with Adam & Abraham following the advise of their wives?
… Genesis 3:17; Genesis 16:2; Genesis 21
.

Being given a leadership role is an honor and privilege from the Lord
… Leadership is usually & constantly tested & challenged
… to see if one is still able to maintain the strategic leadership roles
…particularly of responsibility and accountability
… and continue with the sort after trappings of power & authority.
.
Therefore a leader needs to be continuously useful to the Lord
… the leader needs to ensure that they are a vessel of honor, useful to the Master
… having been cleansed & sanctified from all dishonor
… thereby being adequately prepared for every good work.
.
2 Timothy 2:20-22 NKJV
… But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.
… Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
… Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

On male leadership issue (failure??) in Adam and Abraham
▪The head of man is Christ
- And there should be nothing covering (coming in between) man and Christ
- Christ is therefore the symbol of authority over the male.

The story of Jesus and the Centurion (Matthew 8)
… gives some insight on authority and being under authority
… The Centurion told Jesus – Just say a word… for I also am a man under authority
… and Jesus equated this to great faith!
.
Indeed, operating in righteousness ( doing the right thing, doing things in the way God wants them done)
… requires not only faith, but great faith
… for it is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen.
… and a test of obedience that translates into pleasing faith
… believing that God is indeed Almighty, and is more than able and willing to perform for those that diligently seek (trust) Him.

1 Corinthians 11 NKJV
3. But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ , the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God
4. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head.
{… having anything or anyone between (or above) him and Christ ??}
- For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God ; but woman is the glory of man.
8. For man is not from woman, but woman from man.
9. Nor was man created for the woman, but woman for the man.
10. For this reason the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.
11. Nevertheless, neither is man independent of woman, nor woman independent of man, in the Lord.

Therefore, particularly for men in leadership…
… Christ is their symbol of authority
… hence…
- Thus says the LORD: “ Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD…. Jeremiah 17:5
- The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction… Proverbs 1:7
- Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits , whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world….1 John 4:1
- But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed… Galatians 1:8

Proverbs 9:10-12 NKV
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you.
If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, And if you scoff, you will bear it alone.”
( decisions have consequences)

And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding. ’ ”

Critical importance of wisdom, obedience and Fear of the Lord
… Particularly for leaders
… For judgement starts in the house of the Lord… 1 Peter 4:17

PRAYER
The grace for leadership in
… Wisdom
… Obedience
… & Delighting in the fear of the Lord
Making every effort to present ourselves approved of God
… an unashamed workman
… who accurately handling the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15)
Having been equipped
… through the power of Christ
… to do His will and all that is pleasing to Him ( Hebrews 13:21)
… all for the glory of God.
